Round Robin Test – Evaluation Protocol
Assay by quantitative 1H NMR spectroscopy
The aim of this round robin test is to verify the performance of the integration procedure for quantitative NMR experiments. The absolute content of the test substance 2,6-Di-tert-butyl-4-methylphenol (BHT) is to be determined by using the internal standard method (six-fold determination); 1,2,4,5-Tetrachloro-3-nitrobenzene (TCNB) is used as internal standard. The sample preparation and the quantitative 1H NMR measurements were carried out in the laboratories of Spectral Service AG.
How to perform the evaluation of the NMR spectra?
Phase and baseline correctionBefore starting the integration phase and baseline correction procedures have to be performed automatically and/or manually.
IntegrationIntegrate appropriate signals of BHT and TCNB. Set the integral of the TCNB signal appearing at 8.48 ppm to a value of 100. Each participant must decide which signal(s) of BHT will be used to calculate the content.
